Information for Excursion Application

As the official travel agency, we, Corporate 3rd Office, Kinki Nippon Tourist Co., Ltd. (KNT), are pleased to assist IPEC2026 attendees with excursion application.
(Please note that the prices do not include registration fee for IPEC2026.)

Excursion Information

Gunkanjima -A World Heritage Site-
Gunkanjima (Hashima Island) is a small island located about 20 kilometers from Nagasaki Port.
Gunkanjima became a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its important role in Japan’s industrial history. The island was a coal mining site from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century and is known for its early use of reinforced concrete buildings. It represents Japan’s rapid industrialization during the Meiji era. For this reason, Gunkanjima was registered in 2015 as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution.”

Transfers :	By cruise ship operated by Gunkanjima Cruise Co., LTD.
Minimum number of participants :	60 persons (Total number for Plan A and Plan B)

Things not included in the excursion fee :	Things not listed above: breakfast, lunch, dinner, travel costs to the start point and from the end point of the itinerary, medical expenses for injuries and illness, travel accident insurance, registration fee for IPEC2026

Notes

Only IPEC2026 registrants are eligible to apply.
Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that the excursions may be sold out even before the application deadline.
Children aged 4 and above are welcome to participate. (Children under 4 years of age cannot participate for safety reasons.)
Itineraries are subject to change due to weather or any other conditions of an operational nature.
Excursions will be conducted as planned even if it rains, but may be cancelled in case of stormy weather. No refund will be made even if part of the excursion cannot be conducted (e.g. if landing on the island is not possible) due to weather or sea conditions. The excursion fee will be refunded if it is totally cancelled.

Payment Method: Credit Card (Online)

No application will be confirmed in the absence of full payment. The contract shall be executed with our acceptance and receipt of the payment.
All payment should be made in Japanese yen only.
VISA, Master Card, American Express, Diners Club, or JCB are available.
Please use a credit card which is valid at least until September, 2026.
The payee to be stated on your credit card statement will be “Kinki Nippon Tourist Co., Ltd.”, though it might be slightly different depending on the card company.
It may take two or three months for the transaction to appear on your credit card statement due to the processing cycles of online payment system and credit cardcompanies.

Change / Cancellation / Refund Policy

In case of changes and cancellations, please contact us by e-mail (ipec2026-rgst@or.kntct.com) with your registration number in the subject line.
Contacts received outside of our business hours will be processed on our next business day. (The cancellation policy of the next business day will apply.)

＜Cancellation Policy＞

11 days before the excursion date	No Charge
10 to 8 days before the excursion date	20% of excursion fee
7 to 2 days before the excursion date	30% of excursion fee
1 day before the excursion date	40% of excursion fee
On the day of the excursion (before the departure time)	50% of excursion fee
On the day of the excursion (after the departure time)	100% of excursion fee
Cancellation without notice (No-show)	100% of excursion fee / No Refund

Partial refunds are not possible due to system limitations. If any partial refund should be made for change or cancellation, the originally charged amount will be refunded to the credit card then the cancellation fee (if applicable) and the amount of the updated application will be charged. Due to the processing cycles of online payment system and credit card companies, the timing of when each transaction appears on your credit card statement may vary.

For Applicants Under 18 Years Old

Applicants under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a guardian. In case the guardian is not your custodial parent, a parental consent form filled by the custodial parent is required. Please have your custodial parent fill out the form and submit it here.
Applicants between the ages of 15 and 17 who will not be accompanied by their custodial parent must submit a parental consent form filled by the custodial parent. Please have your custodial parent fill out the form and submit it here.

Please inform us in case you think that your physical circumstances require special considerations or arrangements not included in the plan. We will accommodate your request where possible and reasonable. We may refuse participation in case where we are unable to accommodate the request.
KNT processes personal information in accordance with the privacy policy. KNT and commissioned companies shall use personal information entered in the application form to contact the applicant and shall also use the information within the scope necessary for arranging and providing the applied services.
